About SBDC

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) provides consulting and technical assistance to the small business community. Our goal is simple - to help small businesses start and grow. The SBDC program supports the growth and development of the United States economy by assisting in job creation, economic diversification, and business expansion.

Our funding partners:
  • U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA)
  • Host Universities and Colleges throughout the USA
  • Host Non Profit and Community Based Organizations
  • Local Partners and financial institutions.
SBDC offices are located throughout the United States providing business counseling, training, and research services.

SBDCs provide management counseling in areas including accounting, financing and loan packaging, capital acquisition, business planning, marketing, human resources, strategic planning, and financial analysis.

SBDCs also provide specialized assistance in international trade, government procurement, technology commercialization, human resource management, taxes, and workplace safety.

Our confidential business consulting services are offered at no cost and free of charge to our clients.

Mission

The mission of the Small Business Development Centers is to promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity, and improved management for small businesses in the United States.

These goals are accomplished through activities of counseling, technical assistance, training seminars and workshops, advocacy, research studies, resource information and coordination with the U. S. Small Business Administration and other community business support services.

These activities of the SBDCs will result in:
  • Improved performance of small business clients.
  • Enhanced economic growth within the service area.
  • Increased success rate for start-up businesses.
Each SBDC office is positioned as the focal point for small business development activities in their respective communities, by acting as leaders in economic development planning and delivery of highly effective counseling and training services.
